11-year-old humble hero honored for saving woman's life; "I won't be able to say thank you enough"

BEAVER DAM -- He's not too young to save a life. Friday, September 11th a Beaver Dam boy receives recognition for coming to the rescue of a young woman.

It's gratitude on a grand scale.

"I won't be able to say thank you enough. We were minutes from having to call a funeral home," said Kayla Tietz, sister of woman who was saved.

Majestic Hills mobile home park

Friday afternoon, Kayla Tietz stood in the parking lot within Beaver Dam's Majestic Hills mobile home park where on August 26th, her sister Stacie Beske, was in her car unresponsive.

Stacie Beske

"This was the second time we almost lost my sister," said Tietz.

Instead, Stacie Beske was found by an 11-year-old boy.

"He goes over and he knocks on the door and bangs on the door, yells, tries to get her to wake up," said Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt.

Beske overdosed on heroin. The boy went and got his mother, dialed 911 and continued trying to bother Beske in the vehicle.

"The act of stimulating this young lady and keeping her brain active, keeping her aware, kept her from succumbing to the overdose," said Sheriff Schmidt.

Christopher Rios Sarabia

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the effort deserves some recognition. So, Friday night the little life-saver, who is a football fanatic, was at the Beaver Dam High School football game where he scored a big surprise.A humble Christopher Rios Sarabia was hailed as a hero.

"I like it so much, but they didn't really have to do this," said Chris.

But, Chris says he did "really have to do" his good deed.

"Football can come and go, but the person has only one chance," said Chris.

Beske's sister says the 21-year-old remains in jail, where she continues to recover. Meanwhile, Chris has to hustle home from his highlight to rest up for his own youth football game on Saturday morning.
