Motorcyclists dies after hitting deer on Hwy 73 in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- A man operating a motorcycle in Dodge County has died after he was thrown from his bike when he hit a deer on Highway 73 just south of County Highway CD on Saturday, September 12th.

Authorities say initial investigation indicates that 52-year-old Joseph Doubek from Johnson Creek  was traveling southbound on Highway 73 when a deer ran into his path and collided. Doubek was ejected from the motorcycle.

Doubek suffered serious injuries and was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital where he died.

Assisting at the scene Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Randolph Fire and EMS, Beaver Dam EMS, Flight for Life and the Dodge County Emergency response Team.

Dodge County has reported 5 fatal crashes in 2015.
