Battle under the lights: Packers ready to host Seahawks in primetime

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks will face each other for the 16th time during the regular season and for the second
consecutive year in a nationally televised night game. The game is slated for Sunday evening, September 20th -- at Lambeau Field.

According to Packers.com, Green Bay and Seattle have squared off seven times since 2006 -- including the playoffs. That is tied with the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers for the most games Green Bay has played against a non-division opponent over that time span.

Sunday will be the Seahawks’ first trip to Lambeau Field since 2009. Including postseason, the Packers are 8-3 against Seattle at home, with wins in the last five. Green Bay has won three of the last five home games against the Seahawks by 20-plus points (22, 22, 38).

This will be the first time the Packers have hosted Seattle for the home opener.

Sunday’s game starts a stretch of four home games over the next five weeks for the Packers.
