Gold in September: US Bank Building to be lit up in support of childhood cancer awareness

MILWAUKEE -- The US Bank Building in downtown Milwaukee is going gold for childhood cancer awareness starting Monday night, September 21st.

The US Bank Building will be lit up like a golden tower of hope through September 25th in honor of "Gold in September®" and its mission to support every child, everywhere battling cancer today, tomorrow and until cures are found.

Each individual golden light that will be twinkling on the building was installed by hand by the US Bank Building team.

This gesture of support also coincides with National Childhood Cancer Awareness month and Gold in September’s Golden Celebration.

Annie Bartosz created the Gold in September® organization in 2012, at the age of 11 after watching her twin brother, Jack, battle cancer for seven years.

With Jack’s passing at the age of 10, Bartosz turned her grief into action.

She became determined to turn the world gold in September, with gold and September being the nationally recognized color and month for childhood cancer awareness.
