One person killed, one injured in serious crash in Burlington

BURLINGTON -- One person was killed Tuesday evening, September 22nd in a serious crash in Burlington.

The Racine County Communications Center took a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of the State Highway 36 bypass and Pine Street in the Town of Burlington just before 7:00 p.m.

The initial call stated that one vehicle was flipped over and one vehicle was possibly on fire.

Upon arrival of deputies and fire/rescue personnel, it was confirmed that one of the drivers, a 21 year old man, had died in the accident.

That man has been identified by Racine County Sheriff's officials as Tyler Brott of Burlington.

The operator of the second vehicle, a 56-year-old man, was transported by rescue away from the scene and then taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital for his injuries.

He has been identified as 55-year-old David Henning of Burlington.

No other occupants were in the two vehicles involved in the accident.

The intersection was closed for approximately five hours due to this accident.

An initial investigation shows that speed and failure to obey a traffic signal maybe contributing factors in this accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
