Garth Brooks makes surprise visit to Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Before Garth Brooks took the stage on Saturday night in Milwaukee, he was busy hanging out with area kids. The country superstar surprised about fifty girls from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee.

They played a quick game or two of gym hockey, with the help of a UW women's hockey coach.

Brooks say events like these are meant to teach kids about things like teamwork and respect.

"Of all the work I've done as an entertainer, as a father, this is the most important thing I've ever got to be a part of.  Teammates for Kids is something that I hope will live forever, and you can forget Garth Brooks, but we're always going to have kids, good Lord willing, and those kids are always going to need leadership," said Brooks.

The Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation and ProCamps have a 10-year history of impacting kids across the nation. The foundation has provided scholarships for underprivileged children allowing them to attend ProCamps Sports Camps, hosted by some of the biggest names in professional sports.

For the fifty lucky girls at the camp, it's a day they'll hopefully never forget.

Brooks has been taking part in events like these during each stop of his World Tour.
