MillerCoors employees give back by cleaning up around the Milwaukee River

MILWAUKEE -- MillerCoors is giving back to the community and the environment. About 45 MillerCoors employees volunteered their time, and sweat to clean up around the Milwaukee River on Saturday, September 26th.

The group found themselves near the River Revitalization Foundation -- it's close to the old North Avenue dam.

The volunteers accomplished all sorts of work; cleaning up trash, removing invasive 'buckthorn' plants, and replanting native grasses and wildflowers.

"It's great to see organizations giving back. Obviously water is very important to their organization making beer, so it's nice that they understand that cycle," said Joanna Demas, River Revitalization Foundation.

These projects are part of a company-wide initiative called 'Great Water Month.' Throughout September, thousands of MillerCoors employees will participate in water improvement projects in over a dozen communities nationwide.
