Search underway in Kenosha County for "person of interest" in homicide case

KENOSHA/RACINE COUNTY -- Kenosha County Sheriff's Deputies are involved in a very active manhunt along the border of Kenosha and Racine County on Friday, October 2nd. Police are searching for 32-year-old Andrew Obregon as the person of interest in a homicide case.

Andrew Obregon

Authorities say Obregon stole a black 1988 Ford Mustang and that's the vehicle he was driving during the high speed chase. He's a person of interest in the investigation into the death of Tywon Anderson.

Anderson's body was found in a corn field off of Highway A on September 26th.

Officials say Obregon has spent time behind bars before and is addicted to crack.

The Kenosha County Sheriff Says Obregon is considered armed and dangerous.

"This is a very serious situation. Andy Obregon has told people that he knows that this will be a big show that this will be a shootout, watch the news," said Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth.

Obregon's mother has also been arrested for obstructing the investigation and aiding a felon. She's currently in custody.

Authorities do not believe the general public is at risk, but Obregon is on the loose, they think somewhere in the Racine and Kenosa Counties area.

A very large police perimeter has been set up to locate Obregon -- it extends from Union Grove to Brighton Dale Links golf course, to the Bong State Recreation Area.
