Police able to quickly arrest suspects who were inside stolen minivan following armed robbery

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police were able to quickly arrest a total of three suspects who were inside a stolen minivan following an armed robbery.

Police say on Thursday, October 1st around 8:40 a.m. officers were investigating an armed robbery near 67th and Carmen Avenue in which a suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded and obtained property from a victim -- fleeing the scene in a tan minivan.

A witness was able to obtain the license plate, and it was relayed to officers. It was determined that the minivan was reported stolen earlier on Thursday morning.

Eventually, investigating officers spotted the minivan used in the robbery drive by them at a high rate of speed.

Officers pursued the van, which ultimately crashed into a fire hydrant.

Police were able to take the suspect into custody following a short foot pursuit. Police say the 15-year-old suspect had the robbery victim's property on him at the time of his arrest.

Two passengers in the minivan were taken into custody for questioning.

The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
