Milwaukee police: 53-year-old man dies while in protective custody, as he was being treated

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say a man died while in protective custody as he was receiving medical treatment on Wednesday night, October 7th at a home on the city’s north side.

Police say officers were called out to a disturbance at a home near 70th and Locust around 8:30 p.m.

Shortly after taking the 53-year-old man into protective custody, officers recognized he was in medical distress, and medical attention was summoned immediately, police say.

The Milwaukee Fire Department arrived at the scene.

The man was pronounced dead while undergoing treatment at the scene.

Per state law, an outside agency will handle this investigation.

      Yeah, you’re not too bright, are you? Protective custody is when the police are (wait for it)…PROTECTING the person from others. Meaning he wasn’t under arrest or being treated as a criminal.

    Be careful riding Milwaukee bus two men are scoping you out and will wait for to get off the bus and rob you my sister which is white caught the bus from 27th and capital to Greenfield two black men try to get her number on the bus she turned them down due to the fact she was tired from work when she got the bus they robbed her and called her names. Parents remind your kids of any age how wrong it it is to take someone hard earned money and that karmas a mf cause believe me we are not happy about this and we will take things in our own hands….
