MADISON — Wisconsin will host a Democratic presidential primary debate on Feb. 11.

The Democratic National Committee announced the date on Thursday. No site within the state was named. The debate will be hosted by PBS.

Wisconsin is hosting a Republican presidential primary debate next month, but the date and place have not been announced.

Wisconsin’s presidential primary is April 5.

TJ Helmstetter, DNC spokesman, issued this statement:

“Wisconsin lost about 180,000 jobs in the Great Recession, and it still lags the Midwest and the nation in job growth. Wisconsinites would be doubly harmed by a Republican president, especially one from the current cast of characters running in that party’s reality show primary. Wisconsin’s families and workers stand to benefit tremendously by Democratic policies to help the middle class. Our Democratic candidates are excited to present their visions to move America forward in such an important state with such a rich progressive tradition.”

Martha Laning, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, released the following statement:

“We are very excited to host a presidential debate here in Wisconsin next year. It will be a tremendous opportunity for voters in Wisconsin to get know the candidates better and showcase our great state on the national stage.

It will be refreshing for Wisconsin to host presidential candidates with a vision on how our country can work together to strengthen the middle class rather than the ‘divide and conquer” strategy Wisconsin has become known for under Governor Walker.

I look forward to hearing a great discussion of ideas from all of the Democratic candidates for president next February.”

I encourage everyone to do some research on DNC spokesman TJ Helmstetter. Then if you’re a democrat ask yourself “has the democrat party left me”?

  • Yo

Never knew why the democrats would have an a$$ for a mascot. They definitely look like the party of yesteryear. All it is now is socialist communist liberal lefty granola eating give me my free chit blm bottom feeding entitlements.
