Giving back in Green Bay: 10,700 non-perishables, $12,715 collected at Packers game for local pantry

GREEN BAY -- Before fans headed into Lambeau Field's atrium for Sunday's Packers game, many stopped to donate thousands of food items for a local Green Bay Pantry.

The Packers Women's Association's 29th Annual Food Drive was able to collect 10,700 non-perishable food items and $12,715 for the food distribution program for the needy in the greater Green Bay area at Paul's Pantry.

"Thanks to our fans, this food drive has been a success for 29 years. The drive helps stock the shelves at Paul's Pantry for nearly half the year, and we are so grateful for the support," said Alyssa Janis, co-chairwoman of the drive.

Overall, in 29 years of conducting the food drive, the PWA has collected more than one million non-perishable food items and more than $312,000 for Paul's Pantry.
