"Never a dull moment:" Another strip club looks to open in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Another developer has applied to open a strip club on Old World Third St. in downtown Milwaukee.

"There's never a dull moment in the City of Milwaukee," said Alderman Tony Zielinski.

If business owners have their way, some of those moments will be 'clothing optional.' Alderman Zielinski, who also serves as the chair of the Licensing Committee, says another strip club is looking to open in Milwaukee.

"This is a free country and people are free to apply for licenses as they see fit," said Zielinski.

The new strip club would be located at Old World Third St. and Wells. It would be called '10 Exotic.' Businessman Boro Buzdum tells FOX6 News by telephone that he's open to fully nude or topless dancers.

The location in question is the same one 'Silk Exotic' eyed as a potential downtown location. Those plans were rejected by the city.

"We've applied there three times. Obviously we like the location," said Silk owner Jon Ferraro.

Silk's owners have filed two lawsuits against the city with a third lawsuit pending that could cost taxpayers close to $1 million.

"I think one high-end gentleman's club downtown would be more than enough. It would cater to the clientele that goes downtown," said Ferraro.

Ferraro says he is business partners with Buzdum's brother in Madison -- and there have been talks that the location could end up being part of Silk. But it begs the question -- how many strip clubs can Milwaukee handle?

Buzdum says he's looking to fill a need in the downtown area -- and he isn't worried about competition.

"Ultimately, it will be the marketplace that dictates how many clubs we can handle," said Zielinski.

Buzdum says the location in question is appealing because it is downtown and not close to churches or schools.

The Licensing Committee could take up this issue in early November.
