Milwaukee police: Victim helps officers locate strong-armed robbery suspect

MILWAUKEE -- A strong-armed robbery suspect is arrested on the south side with the help of the victim.

District Two officers responded to the 700 block of W. Historic Mitchell Street just before 2:00 p.m. on October 9 for a report of a strong-armed robbery.

The victim, a 44-year-old Milwaukee woman, told officers an unknown woman approached her and grabbed her purse before fleeing on foot.

The victim saw the suspect run into a nearby apartment building and alerted police. Responding officers knocked on the doors of the building and were able to find the suspect, a 33-year-old Milwaukee woman, inside one of the apartments along with the victim’s purse.

The suspect was taken into custody and she confessed to police her involvement in the crime.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days. -
