Court ruling gives green light for Germania building to be transformed into apartment units

MILWAUKEE -- A court ruling will speed up plans to renovate the Germania office building in downtown Milwaukee. The building is set to be transformed into apartments.

The ruling says developers can evict the last two tenants if they are compensated for losses from the move.

Work on the building, located at Wells and Plankinton could begin as early as next year (2016).

Many of the apartments would be reserved for low-income residents.
