MFD: Firefighter hit by debris, suffers minor injury while battling fire at home near 37th & Scott

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Fire Department officials tell FOX6 News a firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling a fire on Monday afternoon, October 19th.

The fire happened near 37th and Scott in Milwaukee around 2:30 p.m.

MFD officials say the fire started in the attic of a two-and-a-half-story wood frame home, and caused an estimated $53,000 dollars in damage.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one has been displaced, as the home is being remodeled.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The firefighter who was injured was hurt by falling debris, MFD officials say. That firefighter is expected to return to work on Tuesday.
