Two injured following rollover accident on I-41 near Mequon Road in Germantown

GERMANTOWN -- The Germantown Fire Department along with Germantown police were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover accident on I-41 northbound, north of Mequon Road, Sunday night, October 18th.

Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle had rolled over but was upright, with heavy damage to the roof, driver's side and passenger's side of the vehicle.

Officials say two people were trapped inside the vehicle and the fuel tank was leaking gasoline.

Germantown firefighters use hydraulic rescue tools to cut the roof off the vehicle and removed both the front and rear doors of the car. Extrication took approximately 15 minutes.

Both people were removed from the vehicle and transported to Community Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Germantown Police Department.
