Chalk Talk Luncheon with Brett Favre on Thanksgiving Day will benefit Rawhide Boys Ranch

GREEN BAY -- A Chalk Talk Luncheon with Packers Hall of Fame and Super Bowl Quarterback Brett Favre will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th in Green Bay to benefit Rawhide Boys Ranch.

The luncheon is set to begin at noon.

In addition to the luncheon and Chalk Talk, Rawhide will also pay tribute to fellow NFL Hall of Fame and Super Bowl Quarterback Bart Starr who is recovering from the effects of a stroke in September of 2014. The Chalk Talk portion of the program with Brett Favre will last approximately 45 minutes.

This third annual Chalk Talk will be hosted at the KI Convention Center located at 333 Main Street in Green Bay. A traditional Thanksgiving meal will be served as part of the event. Sponsorship packages are currently being offered for advanced sale and individual tickets will go on sale after November 2nd.

Last year, Brett Favre surprised a Rawhide Chalk Talk audience gathered at the Brett Favre Steakhouse near Lambeau Field, with his first return to Green Bay since his retirement from the NFL.  The audience of over 230 Rawhide supporters erupted with applause as Brett and his wife Deanna were introduced by ESPN analyst and NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Steve Young. The Favre’s agreed to attend the event in support of Rawhide and as a tribute to Bart Starr.  At the event, he shared his memories as a NFL record-setting Quarterback of the Green Bay Packers.

This tribute to Bart and Cherry Starr during the Thanksgiving Day event will honor their 50 year anniversary as co-founders of Rawhide Boys Ranch.  Brett and Deanna Favre share the Starr’s passion for helping less fortunate youth. The Favre’s have been supporters of Rawhide for over 14 years as proceeds from the Favre 4 Hope Foundation and the Brett Favre Charity Softball game, which he hosted during his playing days, have benefited Rawhide with generous gifts in support of boys who live at Rawhide.

“Rawhide alumni have great memories of meeting the Favre’s over the years as they participated in volunteer roles with the Charity Softball Game,” stated John Solberg, Rawhide Executive Director. “We are thankful to Brett and Deanna Favre and their Foundation, Favre 4 Hope, which has contributed over $250,000, since 2001 to Rawhide.”

Bart Starr, Jr. will be present for the Chalk Talk. He and his family are hopeful that his father Bart Starr, Sr. and wife Cherry will be able to attend the game against the Chicago Bears later that evening.
