BEAVER DAM — Beaver Dam police say a man was injured after his vehicle struck a train on Thursday afternoon, October 22nd.

It happened around 3:15 p.m.

We’re told the man’s vehicle struck the Wisconsin Southern train towards the rear of the train as the train was headed eastbound on the tracks.

The man inside that vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment, and he is expected to survive.

The cause of this crash is under investigation.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.

Despite the crash, we’re told the train continued heading eastbound, and whomever was operating the train didn’t realize the train had been struck.

Police were able to meet up with the train and stop it following the incident.

Sad but how can you hit a train on a sunny afternoon? Crossing lights or not, it shouldn’t be that difficult to see. Maybe a medical issue?
