MOUNT PLEASANT — Mount Pleasant police are seeking a suspect after an attempted carjacking at the Speedway gas station on Washington Avenue on Thursday morning, October 22nd.

It happened around 3:30 a.m.

Police say the victim reported he had purchased items from inside the store and as he was placing the items inside his vehicle, the suspect approached him from the side of the building while displaying a pistol.

The suspect then threatened to shoot the victim and demanded the victim get into the vehicle with him and drive.

When the victim refused, the suspect fled south through yards on foot.

The victim described the suspect as being a younger male black, approximately 5’10” tall with a thin build — wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.

A police K-9 officer was used to search the area for the suspect, but the suspect was not located.

There were no injuries suffered during this incident.
