Robert's Frozen Custard rallies behind police: "Support the community that supports us"

GERMANTOWN -- It was a huge show of support for the Germantown Police Department along with a little frozen custard. Saturday, October 24th the owner of Robert's Frozen Custard held a fundraiser to help support the police department.

Along with the donations, Darren Stamm handed out 50 signs saying, "We Support Our Police."

"It's really a perfect circle: We support the community that supports us. We all need the police, so today was really the perfect combination of all that," said Darren Stamm, Robert's Frozen Custard.

Some of the money will be used to create a Germantown Police Department honor guard. Officers who volunteer for this honor need specialized training and must have a special dress uniform.

Saturday's donations will help offset some of those costs as well.
