Renovations just about complete: Tippecanoe Library on city's south side nearly ready to reopen

MILWAUKEE -- Another library in Milwaukee is set to reopen after renovations.

Construction is almost complete on the Tippecanoe Library, located on Milwaukee's south side, at the corner of Howell and Howard Avenue.

It will include added meeting rooms and space for books.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says renovating neighborhood libraries is about so much more than just books.

"It's the computers that are here. It's the job searches that can occur here. It's the summer reading programs or the after-school programs that we have here -- so regardless, if you're three years old, 13 years old or 33 or 83 years old, they are still relevant to the city," Mayor Barrett said.

The Tippecanoe Library will have a grand reopening celebration on December 12th.
