LONDON — SABMiller says negotiations for a $106 billion merger with the maker of Budweiser have been extended for a week to give the two companies time to iron out details.

London-based SABMiller requested the delay from the U.K. takeover panel to provide more time to discuss “other aspects” of the transaction.

Before the extension, the deadline for Anheuser Busch InBev to make a formal offer was 5 p.m. (1700 GMT) Wednesday. The deadline is now Nov. 4.
