Brookfield police: Shots fired at vehicle with man, woman, child inside; man struck & hurt

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police have provided an update after a police presence Wednesday night, October 28th near Burleigh Boulevard and Cullen Drive. Police say a 27-year-old man was shot.

Police say a 30-year-old woman and the 27-year-old man were inside their vehicle with their young child, headed west on Capitol Drive near Calhoun -- when they believed they were being followed.

They then headed south on Calhoun, and then east on Burleigh west of Pilgrim.

That's when their vehicle was shot at, and the man was hit twice in his upper leg and chin.

The man was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

The woman, who was driving the vehicle, and the young child were not hurt.

No one is in custody -- but police say there is no danger to the public. Police believe the victims in this case were intentionally followed and targeted -- with the 27-year-old man being the target.

We're told the victims do not live in Brookfield. Police say they were just passing through the area when this incident occurred.
