Police in Minnesota, Pennsylvania warn parents after needles reportedly found in Halloween candy



PENNSYLVANIA -- Police in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, about 50 miles west of Philadelphia are investigating reports of needles found in Halloween candy.

Police said on Facebook Sunday, November 1st "a needle-type item" was found inside five wrapped Twix bars, and a Snickers bar.

The incidents have police encouraging parents to carefully check their children's Halloween candy.





According to KFOR -- a man allegedly saw a post on Facebook from a parents who indicated their child's Snickers candy bar had needles in it. The man decided to check his own children's candy, and reportedly found needles in theirs as well.

Police say they are unsure if the candy was deliberately tampered with or if there was a mishap during distribution.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police in Brainerd, Minnesota are issuing a similar warning after receiving a call from someone saying that they found a needle in their child's candy.
