FOX6 News obtains video showing latest wrong-way driver on Milwaukee Co. freeway system

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- FOX6 News has obtained video showing the latest wrong-way driver on the Milwaukee County freeway system.

Tory Galipo

22-year-old Tory Galipo of Franklin faces a charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety (RES) after driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 43 just north of the Marquette Interchange on Friday, October 30th.

Deputies from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office were dispatched around 5 a.m. after one caller reported having to veer out of a lane of traffic to avoid being struck by Galipo.

Galipo also called 911 to report that she had crashed, telling deputies at the scene that she had consumed a half bottle of vodka. She crashed into the wall going the wrong way on the Highland Avenue on-ramp. Galipo was not hurt, but her preliminary breath test was .22 -- or nearly three times the legal limit for driving.

In addition to the endangering safety charge, Galipo received citations for DUI-1st offense, Failure to Control vehicle, and Driving Wrong Way on Divided Highway.

If convicted of the RES charge, Galipo faces up to 10 years in prison.
