Muskego police identify two men killed in murder-suicide outside saloon

MUSKEGO -- Muskego police have identified two people killed in a murder-suicide incident on Friday, October 30th.

The victims are identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Trawitzki and 41-year-old Thomas Kruse.

It is unclear at this point if these victims are related/connected in any way -- and police have not identified which of these men was the shooter in this murder-suicide incident.

The men were found dead outside DeMarini's Lake DeNoon Saloon in Muskego on Friday evening.

By Friday night, the saloon was back open, but the owner told FOX6 News he's heartbroken by what happened.

"One of my employees came running up and said he heard some pops," said Philip DeMarinis, saloon owner.

DeMarinis didn't think it was real at first.

"He says 'come outside and bring your gun.' There was a number of gunshots fired," said DeMarinis.

But around 3:15 p.m. on Friday, DeMarinis made a heartbreaking discovery when he found one of his employees dead with gunshot wounds in the parking lot.

"To see that, people see it in movies, but to stand over one of your own is a very difficult thing," said DeMarinis.

The body of another man, related to an employee, was found feet away.

"We went over by him and we saw he had a gun in his hand," said DeMarinis.

Police were called to the scene to investigate exactly what happened while neighbors gathered nearby.

"It's so shocking. You would not expect something like this to happen, especially in a place so close to home. You just don't think of that happening at all," said Meridith DeBack, who lives nearby.

"We didn't hear no yelling, no screaming -- nothing," said DeMarinis.

DeMarinis' thoughts immediately turned to his distraught staff and the families of the two men who died.

"They have to live with this. It's not anything anybody wants to go through. We lost a good friend and a family member," said DeMarinis.

DeMarinis says both men involved in this incident were fathers. He says he's especially saddened by what their children might be going through.
