After woman records raunchy activity on bus; driver arrested: "My first reaction was 'are you kidding me?'"

MILWAUKEE -- Riteway officials on Tuesday, November 3rd fired a school bus driver accused of doing some raunchy things on board the bus. The incident was caught on camera, and FOX6 News has learned the driver has now been arrested.

The incident occurred near 18th and North in broad daylight on Tuesday.

School bus incident near 18th and North

On Tuesday, the woman who recorded the video says a school bus stopped in front of her home, and the driver and a woman began taking off their clothes -- so this neighbor pulled out her phone and hit "record."

The neighbor asked that FOX6 News protect her identity.

"There are no kids in this area that get on a school bus," the woman said.

That was her first indication something wasn't right.

This was the second:

"When he starts unbuckling his pants -- I told my son to bring me my phone. I came to the door and started recording in my doorway," the woman said.

This neighbor's son provided a bit of commentary as his mother recorded the school bus driver committing what would be his final acts on the job.

"I see the girl pull her pants down and he starts unbuckling his pants," the woman said. "On a school bus? Where y`all kids have to get on this bus?"

The woman says the bus driver and his partner stayed on the bus for a few more minutes -- and this neighbor then moved a bit closer with her cell phone.

"I walked the phone back toward the front of the bus, and he jumped in the driver seat and pulled off. The lady stayed on the bus with him," the neighbor said.

The woman says she was recording sex between the bus driver and an unknown woman. She says she's fed up -- because prostitution is a huge problem on her block near 18th and North.

"I feel my kids and other peoples kids shouldn`t have to see this," the woman said.

The driver, a 45-year-old Milwaukee man, was fired by Riteway on Tuesday. One day later, he was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

The woman involved has yet to be identified.

"My first reaction was are you kidding me?" Alderman Russell Stamper said.

Stamper is the alderman for the area where this incident occurred. He says regardless of who the woman involved is, this incident has rekindled a conversation regarding an issue that's been of serious concern for some time.

"In the beginning of my term, there was a lot of prostitution on North Avenue, but we were able to slow it down. Now they`ve moved on to Lisbon, 29th and 28th and Lisbon. There's a lot of prostitution that we`re trying to handle," Stamper said.

Police say they monitor the area for prostitution activity, and recently shut down to houses in the area for it.

Alderman Stamper says the only way it will stop is if neighbors also step up, like the woman who recorded the video in her neighborhood on Tuesday.

"Do not tolerate this type of behavior in your neighborhood, in the street, nowhere. It's not acceptable anymore in this district," Stamper said.

"You have to put your foot down, and I'm putting my foot down," the woman who recorded the video said.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges in the coming days.
