Single-vehicle crash closes ramp from US 45 SB to I-94 EB a bit ahead of planned closure time

WAUWATOSA -- The ramp from US 45 SB to I-94 EB had to be shut down on Thursday evening, November 5th as a result of a crash.

Officials with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office tell FOX6 News the crash involved one vehicle, and it happened around 5:30 p.m.

We're told the vehicle crashed into an attenuator barrel (a yellow barrel that are located in the gore area of the highway -- which is the middle space created when two lanes split).

Two people were inside the vehicle, and one complained of shoulder pain, but neither had to be taken to the hospital.

The ramp from US 45 SB to I-94 EB was shut down due to the responding emergency crews and a construction crew that needed to clean up sand on the roadway after the crash.

Because there was a previously scheduled shutdown of that ramp beginning at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, the decision was made to keep the ramp closed following the crash.

The ramp will remain closed until 5:00 a.m. Friday.

The cause of this crash is under investigation.
