Police: Altercation leads to shots fired, man dies after crashing car; woman hurt

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting incident that left one man dead and a woman hurt. It happened on Sunday evening, November 8th, around 6:00 p.m. near 8th and Galena.

Police say there was a physical altercation between at least two people, and members of a crowd watching the altercation began to exchange gunfire.

A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was shot and hurt, and a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, identified as Dominque Jordan, died after the shooting.

Jordan was shot, and entered a vehicle to flee the scene, and police say he drove to the area near 10th and Walnut, where he crashed into a retaining wall, and died from his injuries.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. It is believed she will survive.

No one is in custody in connection with this incident.

Police say the retaining wall/bridge near 10th and Walnut wasn't damaged as a result of the crash.
