MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday morning, November 10th on the city's north side. This is Milwaukee's 129th homicide this year.
It happened just before 7:00 a.m. near 12th and Reservoir.
Police say a known male suspect approached a man and shot him. The victim, now identified as 21-year-old Michael Prescott, was pronounced dead at the scene.
MPD is currently seeking that known suspect.
"The neighborhood is good," Jatinder Singh said.
But when darkness comes, Singh says, so too do his concerns.
"It be scary to go home. You go, step out of the store and you have to watch, like, are you safe or not? I gotta put the locks on the gate. Then nobody will be hiding around the garbage tanks," Singh said.
Singh operates ABC Liquor Depot on 12th Street -- right across the street from where this homicide occurred.
"I heard, like, somebody got shot, and it hurt. Like, somebody got shot, and dead," Singh said. "Nobody knew what exactly happened."
Singh says while he may not know who's responsible for the shooting, he is certain of one thing -- that this person is not from this neighborhood, because he says the folks who live in the neighborhood value their safety and do not behave like this.
