Gov. Scott Walker: Will work on party's grassroots support for election

MILWAUKEE — Republican Gov. Scott Walker says he's going to focus on helping his party establish its grassroots support in preparation for the presidential election.

Speaking at a breakfast Tuesday organized by the Wall Street Journal, Walker declined to endorse a GOP candidate, saying only that any of the contenders in Milwaukee for tonight's debate would be better than Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Walker, who suspended his presidential campaign weeks ago, was asked whether he was interested in being vice president, prompting him to say such considerations were premature, but "the future remains to be seen."
