Bolts on swings loosened: Police investigate another case of vandalism at Kayla's Playground

FRANKLIN -- Another case of vandalism at "Kayla's Playground" is being investigated by police in Franklin.

Police say the bolts on two swings were loosened, and a five-year-old boy was on one of those swings when it let loose.

That boy wasn't hurt.

While the playground was being built, vandals knocked over six portable toilets, several portable sinks and a construction light.

The night before the playground opened, police say someone set off plastic bottle bombs in the park.

"Kayla's Krew" built the all-abilities playground dedicated to Shelly Runte's daughter Kayla, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She passed away in 2012, after her eighth birthday.
