Ready for the snow: Milwaukee DPW has 100+ salt trucks ready hit the roads

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Department of Public Works is geared up to handle the season's first snow storm.

As of 4 p.m. on Friday, officials say they will have 111 salt trucks on Milwaukee's streets. Those trucks will be pre-treating the side streets first.

Once the snow begins, the salt trucks will move from the side streets and address the main roads.

DPW officials say they have not mounted any plows to trucks yet.
