UW-Milwaukee wins first regular season game against Trinity International, 85-61

MILWAUKEE — Cody Wichmann hit all five of his 3-point shots and scored a career-high 17 points to help Milwaukee cruise to an 85-61 win over Division III Trinity International on Friday night.



Matt Tiby had 14 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, Austin Arians scored 11 and J.J Panoske had 10 points and eight rebounds for Milwaukee (4-1).

Sean Smith hit a 3-pointer to give Trinity International a 26-24 lead but Milwaukee closed the first half with a 17-0 run to take a 15-point lead into the break.

The Trojans twice pulled within 11 in the second half but could get no closer.

Milwaukee led by as many as 33.

The Panthers had 23 assists on 36 field goals and shot 50 percent. They outrebounded Trinity International 49-31.

Thomas Amrine and James Glass led the Trojans with 12 points apiece.
