Mitchell Airport officials expect 16% increase in Thanksgiving-related travel this year

MILWAUKEE -- General Mitchell International Airport officials are expecting a 16% increase in Thanksgiving-related traffic compared with last year.

Airline officials project that more than 201,000 passengers will use the airport between November 20th and November 30th.

The busiest days are likely to be Wednesday, November 25th and Sunday, November 29th.

On those days, the airport could see 21,000 passengers each day -- about 2,000 more than an average day.

The least busy travel day will be Thanksgiving Day itself, when airport officials expect about 12,000 travelers.
