Wisconsin Humane Society ambassador Duncan the pit bull has died

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Wisconsin Humane Society say one of their most important ambassadors has passed away.

Duncan, an 11-year-old American Pitbull Terrier, died last Friday from congestive heart failure. He began volunteering for the Wisconsin Humane Society in 2006 as an education ambassador, attending countless events and education programs over the years with his guardian, Nora Hart.

Duncan’s work on behalf of WHS helped to change perceptions of pit bulls; his affable, sweet demeanor won the hearts of everyone he met.

You can make a donation in honor of Duncan at wihumane.org that will go to support homeless animals in the community.
