In response to hateful postcards, students write "letters of love" for targeted businesses

MILWAUKEE -- A few months ago, FOX6 News told you of racist and hateful postcards being sent to local Latino-owned businesses. On Tuesday, December 1st, a group came together to show their support for them through "letters of love."

For each targeted business and organization, students wrote letters with words of encouragement -- letting them know there are people who stand by them, and thanking them for bringing awareness to the issue, and standing up to hatred.

Students presented their letters of love on Tuesday night at "Arts at Large" in Walker's Point.

"What's great about this project is that it really focuses on not just the good things that are happening but also the negative things that are happening and really reflecting on that and personalizing that," Christine Neumann-Ortiz, executive director of Voces de la Frontera said.

Tuesday night's event was part of Arts at Large's December Month of Giving.
