One case of mumps reported at UW-Milwaukee; vaccination clinic scheduled

MILWAUKEE -- One case of the mumps has been confirmed in a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student as of Wednesday, December 2nd. Norris Health Center is working closely with the City of Milwaukee Health Department to initiate the appropriate follow-up investigation with people who have had close contact.

Statewide, there have been 37 cases reported in 2015. Most are associated with universities.

Norris Health Center encourages all campus community members to take the following steps to stay healthy and prevent the spread of illness.


    If you need help determining whether you need a vaccination, or you have not been vaccinated, you can get vaccinated at no cost from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Union Fireside Lounge.
