One arrested, two sought following attempted burglary on Milwaukee's west side

MILWAUKEE -- With the help of an alert neighbor, Milwaukee police arrested a convicted felon and are searching for two other suspects following an attempted burglary on the city’s west side.

District 3 officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of N. 41st Street around 9:20 p.m. on December 9 for a report of a burglary in progress. The caller told officers two men were breaking into a home and a third man was acting as a lookout.

When officers arrived at the scene, they saw the suspect who was acting as a lookout standing on the corner. The officers found several tools, including a pry bar, on the suspect that could be used to commit burglaries.

The 23-year-old Milwaukee man, who is a convicted felon, was taken into custody and confessed to his role in the crime. The other two suspects remain at large.

MPD will present the case against the arrested suspect to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
