MPD: Convicted felon arrested for pointing gun at District 5 officers

MILWAUKEE -- A convicted felon was arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department after he pointed his gun at officers.

District Five officers were on patrol in the area of N. 27th Street and W. Ruby Street around 8:20 p.m. on December 12 when they saw a man walking down the street. When the man saw the officers, he proceeded in the opposite direction and grabbed the front of his waistband to secure an object.

The officers told the man to stop but he fled from the scene on foot.

During the chase, the suspect pointed the gun at one of the officers. The suspect, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man and a convicted felon, was taken into custody in the 4500 block of N. Teutonia Avenue and officers also confiscated the suspect’s gun, a .40 caliber semi-automatic.

MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
