MPD: Two juveniles arrested in northwest side burglary; could be responsible for several more

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police arrested two juveniles after they broke into a northwest side store and believe they could be responsible for multiple similar crimes in the area.

District Four officers responded to the Dollar General located at 8328 W. Brown Deer Road around 8:40 a.m. on December 11 for a report of a burglary. The store’s manager told officers that after viewing store surveillance video, she learned two suspects broke into the store and stole two cell phones.

Based on the surveillance video, officers were able to locate the suspects around 10:10 a.m. in the 8100 block of W. Brown Deer Road and take them into custody.

The suspects are a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, both from Milwaukee. Both suspects confessed to the crime and investigators are looking into whether the juveniles could be responsible for at least ten other burglaries on the northwest side dating back to February.

MPD will present the current case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for a charging decision.
