Cold case: December 15th marks 31 year anniversary of murder of Traci Hammerberg

OZAUKEE COUNTY -- Tuesday, December 15th marks the 31 year anniversary of the sexual assault and murder of 18-year-old Traci Hammerberg.

Hammerberg's partially nude body was found in a rural driveway in the Town of Grafton on December 15th, 1984.

After years of investigating and hundreds of people tested and interviewed, the person(s) responsible for her death have never been located.

Ozaukee County Sheriff's officials say a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the individual(s) responsible for Hammerberg's death is being offered.

Sheriff's officials said this on Facebook on the 31 year anniversary of Hammerberg's death:

For these past 31 years Traci’s family and friends have been haunted by not knowing who did this to her. The detectives continue to follow up on leads in their quest of justice for Traci.



THERE IS SOMEONE IN THIS COMMUNITY WHO KNOWS INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CRIME. We are asking this person (s) to be courageous and do the right thing; come forward and tell your story. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP until the person(s) responsible for Traci’s death is brought to justice.
