Racine police: Six-year-old girl struck by vehicle near State & Summit; driver in custody

RACINE -- Racine police say a six-year-old girl was hit by a car in Racine on Wednesday afternoon, December 16th.

It happened near the intersection of State Street and Summit Avenue around 4:00 p.m.

Police say it's believed the girl darted out into traffic.

She was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be OK.

The driver was taken into custody as a result of the crash.

No further details have yet been released.
