Menomonee Falls H.S. staff member resigns, accused of inappropriate relationship with student

MENOMONEE FALLS -- Menomonee Falls School District officials say an investigation is underway after information was received indicating a Menomonee Falls High School staff member may have engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department plans on having a case ready to present to the district attorney next week. The school district says they are working on their own investigation after it was their staff that discovered the alleged issue in the first place.

"Friday the information was brought forward to the leadership team, the individuals involved were immediately met with," said Menomonee Falls superintedent, Patricia Greco. "It was close to the end of the school day. The individual involved was placed on administrative leave."

Soon after, that staff member resigned. The employees name is not being released until charges are filed -- which the superintendent says she does expect to happen.

"Think of your own families. If this impacted your home. how much time would you want to prepare? So we have deep respect for this child, the child's family and the family of the staff member involved," said Greco.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department was contacted Monday morning. The police department has referred charges to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s office.

Greco would not disclose the age or gender of the student involved, saying only that the person was "not 18 years of age."

The investigation is ongoing.

Menomonee Falls School District officials said this in a statement:
