Muskego police: No one in custody after pursuit of vehicle stolen from dealership in Glendale

MUSKEGO -- Muskego police say no one is in custody following an early morning pursuit that happened on Tuesday, December 22nd.

Police say it was shortly after 2:30 a.m. when a traffic stop was conducted near Janesville Road and Pioneer Drive. Police say the vehicle had license plates that didn't match the vehicle.

Officers made contact with the two people who were inside the vehicle, and police say they provided false identification.

Officers also detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

As officers returned to their squad, the suspect vehicle fled the scene.

After a brief pursuit, two of the vehicle's tires were disabled by stop sticks.

The vehicle then stopped on Janesville Road near Golden Country Drive. The two occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot.

Mutual aid was requested, and a search was conducted, but the suspects weren't found.

Because of the close proximity to Tess Corners Elementary School, school district officials were notified, and a thorough search was conducted of the school building and surrounding area. An officer was posted near the school for added security.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m., police received a call indicating a neighbor heard the door of a shed on Belmont Drive near the elementary school slam shut. Officers searched the shed and surrounding area, but no one was found.

It was later learned that the door slam was heard around 6:50 a.m., but not reported until later.

An investigation has revealed the vehicle involved in this pursuit was stolen from a car dealership in Glendale on October 25th.

The driver has been tentatively identified as a 21-year-old Milwaukee man.

The passenger is described as a male, black, in his late teens.

Anyone with information that could help police in this case is asked to give them a call.
