Two dogs ejected when stolen vehicle struck another vehicle in Racine Co.; one dog died

RACINE COUNTY -- The two right lanes of northbound I-94 at County Highway K were temporarily shut down because of a crash on Thursday, December 31st.

By early afternoon, the scene was cleared.

FOX6 News has learned this incident began just before 11:00 a.m., when a deputy in northern Kenosha County spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen.

A traffic stop was attempted on Highway KR, but the suspect vehicle fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle ended up striking another vehicle and crashing in Racine County.

There were two occupants in the suspect vehicle -- an adult and a juvenile. The juvenile was taken to Children's Hospital as a precaution, and release to their parents.

The adult was taken to a hospital in Racine for an evaluation, and eventually released into the custody of the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

We're told a woman and two dogs were in the vehicle that was struck by the suspect vehicle.

The woman wasn't hurt, but the dogs were ejected from the vehicle, and one of them died.

It's unclear at this point whether the other dog was hurt.

The suspect vehicle in this case was reported stolen out of Milwaukee.
