UW-Milwaukee scores late to get past Northern Kentucky, 76-67

MILWAUKEE — Jordan Johnson scored 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds and collected five assists as UW-Milwaukee took control in the final minutes to stop Northern Kentucky 76-67 on Monday night, January 4th.


Drew McDonald scored six-straight points to give the Norse a four point lead, 61-57, but Johnson scored on a layup and converted back-to-back three-point plays, the last with 4 minutes left, to give the Panthers the lead for good and Matt Tiby dunked and added two free throws as Milwaukee evened its record through two Horizon League games.

Johnson shot 7 of 12 from the floor and knocked down 9 of 13 free throw attempts. J.J. Panoske and Akeem Springs added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Lavone Holland II finished with 19 points to lead the Norse and McDonald added 15 points for Northern Kentucky (4-9, 0-2).
