Witnesses pull driver from car after car strikes home, leading to car fire that spread to the home

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a crash that led to a car fire that spread to a home near 8th and Hayes.

It happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6th.

Police say a Lincoln MKS was being driven by a 27-year-old man from Racine. His vehicle accelerated to avoid a collision, and struck a house.

The vehicle caught fire and was badly damaged.

The fire then spread to the house.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

No citations were issued.

Witnesses to this incident were able to pull the driver from the Lincoln MKS after the crash. Police say they towed the vehicle -- causing it to strike a parked car.
