8,000 gallon "Schooling Tank" closed for maintenance at Discovery World

MILWAUKEE -- Discovery World closed its 8,000 gallon "Schooling Tank" in its aquarium for maintenance this week.

Officials say that maintenance is required due to a leak in the tank. The leak resulted in a loss of water from the tank -- and action was taken quickly to remove the salt water species and drain the tank entirely. Every fish in the tank survived.

Discovery World’s Caribbean Tank is adjacent to the Schooling Tank -- and is also temporarily closed while Discovery World fixes the Schooling Tank.

While there is no official timetable as to when these tanks will reopen, you can check for updates at discoveryworld.org.

The other 11 tanks in the aquarium, including both Touch Tanks, remain open to the public.”
